As Catholics we believe in the Real Presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. We believe that the Eucharist IS the Body and Blood of Christ. In order to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist, an individual must be a Baptized and practicing Catholic. If they are married, they must be married in the Catholic Church, not aware of mortal sin, and in good standing with the Church. Members of other churches with whom the Catholic Church is not in full communion, are always welcome to worship with us. However, they should not receive the Eucharist, but may make a spiritual communion.
For more information, visit the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops Guidelines on the Reception of Communion.
The Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist typically takes place when a child has received two years of Religious formation wthin our Religious Education Program. For more information on how your child may prepare to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion or Confirmation, please contact the Religious Education Office.
