January 1, the Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is normally a Holy Day of Obligation, however this year it is not. This is because this year, this beautiful Feast Day of our Patroness falls on a Monday, and for that reason the obligation to attend Mass is abrogated.

However, our Parish has been named after Her, and it is always appropriate to go to Mass on Her Feast Day. What better way is there to begin the New Year than in Her loving embrace. So, if you can attend Mass on Her day, do it. There's no better beginning to 2018.
